Childhood:-
He was raised in Srisailam, Kurnool Dist, Andhra Pradesh, where his mother was a school teacher and his father was an irrigation officer. He was born on April 3, 1965, in Kadapa Dist, Andhra Pradesh. In 1986, he graduated from NIT Warangal with a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering. The Indian Institute of Technology Madras is where he completed his MTech. He belonged to the 1990 Indian Police Service class and was an Additional Director General of Police for Maharashtra. He received a Civil Services rank of 204 overall in India.
Lakshmi Narayana IPS Career:-
Andhra Pradesh native V.V. Lakshmi Narayana IAS placed first in the UPSC civil services class of 1990. Lakshminarayana was a top performer in the 1990 civil services batch, however he was assigned to the Maharashtra cadre since he opted for I.P.S. rather than I.A.S. He is most known for his time spent in the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad and as S.P. of Nanded.
Initially employed by Nanded as a Superintendent of Police, he then joined the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad. On June 12, 2006, he was assigned to Hyderabad as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) because he was eager to join the CBI. After being promoted to Joint Director, he was granted a two-year extension after serving as the CBI unit head for five years. As a Deputy Inspector General of Police, he conducted a successful investigation into the Satyam Scandal. In addition to 27 other high-profile cases, he investigated the Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC) case and Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy's Disproportionate Assets case while serving as a Joint Director of the CBI.

It has been stated by Sri. V.V. Lakshmi Narayana that he will take in villages that choose to forbid alcohol. In accordance with these principles, he has adopted Seetharamapuram in the Vizianagaram District, Sahalalaputtuga in the Srikakulam District, and Chinnamandadi in the Mahabubnagar District.
In 2018, he voluntarily retired and travelled widely throughout all 13 Andhra Pradesh districts, gaining insight into important issues, particularly those affecting women, youth, and farmers.
Lakshmi Narayana Awarded :-
In 2006, Narayana was awarded the Indian Police Medal. The Maharashtra Minority Commission also gave him the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Prize. On January 26, 2017, he received the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Services. In 2016, he was also granted the "Distinguished Alumnus" honour in the Distinguished Alumni Public Service honour (DAPSA) category by his former university, NIT Warangal.
